NEW-LOOK AMF BOWLING MT GRAVATT CENTRE CELEBRATED WITH FAMILY FUN DAY
Monday 22 September 2008: Families and residents from Mt Gravatt and beyond enjoyed an exciting start to the school holidays over the weekend, as hundreds from the area descended upon the newly refurbished AMF Bowling Mt Gravatt Centre to celebrate its re-opening.
The centre reopened with an action-packed Family Fun Day on Saturday 20 September, everyone from bumper-bowlers to regular pro’s came to try out the new centre, which promises to become a school holiday favourite with the kids.
The AMF Bowling Mt Gravatt centre, located in McGregor, has been a fixture in the local community for more than 20 years, and the extensive renovations have brought the centre into the modern age featuring 26 glow-in-the-dark lanes, state of the art sound and lighting, a fully licensed bar and lounge area, amusement machine area, pool tables and a café.
The Family Fun Day celebrations included discounted $6.00 bowling games all day, a visit from a Fairy, a jumping castle, face painting, a magician and AMF show bags.
“It was great to see so many people here on Saturday celebrating the revitalised AMF Bowling Mt Gravatt centre,” said Jordan Rogers, CEO of AMF Bowling.
“The Mt Gravatt centre refurbishment is the first major centre refurbishment in Queensland since Macquarie Leisure took ownership of AMF Bowling in 2005, meaning Mt Gravatt residents now have access to some of the latest technologies in tenpin bowling.”

Opening with an action-packed Family Fun Day on Saturday 5 July, everyone from bumper-bowlers to regular pro’s came to test out the new centre, which promises to become a school holiday favourite with the kids.
Tania Mihailuk, Mayor of Bankstown, was given a personal tour of the new AMF Bowling Villawood Centre by AMF Bowling CEO, Jordan Rogers.
“It is great to see so many friendly faces from the local community sharing the popular AMF Bowling experience,” said Jordan Rogers, CEO of AMF Bowling.
“Families today have enjoyed a great day out at the new AMF Bowling Centre at Villawood. From bowling to M9 Laser Skirmish, pool tables and video games – there really is something for everyone to enjoy.”
