HOW TO SCORE
A game of ten-pin bowling consists of ten frames, with two deliveries in the first nine and up to three if the player has scored a spare in the tenth. Scores are collated progressively during each frame and posted on the scoreboard above your lane.

STRIKE: A strike occurs when all ten pins are knocked down by the first ball rolled in a frame. Marked with an ‘X’ on the scoreboard, a strike earns ten points and bonus points for the number of pins knocked down by the next two balls. Scores are posted once this second ball is rolled. A strike in the tenth frame earns two extra rolls.

SPARE: A spare occurs when all ten pins are knocked down with the two balls of a frame. Marked with a “/” on the scoreboard, a spare earns ten points and bonus points for the number of pins knocked down by the next ball. The score is posted when the next ball (the
first ball of the next frame) is rolled. A spare in the tenth frame earns an extra roll.

ERROR: Errors occur when not all the pins are knocked down with the balls allocated; there is no penalty for an error except missing out on bonus points!
